InSpeck is proud to present the 3D Mega Capturor DF, the newest addition
to its popular Capturor series. Engineered specifically to help users with
constantly changing digitizing needs, the 3D Mega Capturor DF is
synonymous with the word ‘versatility’. Simply put, this means users can
capture two different volumes of measurement with this digitizer. What
makes this possible is that the DF, which stands for Dual Field, is now
equipped with two built-in cameras that can be used without having to
change any lenses. In other words, users can now digitize objects the size
of a face/head and of the size of half a human body with the same
system. The 3D Mega Capturor DF can be described as a 2-in-1 digitizer,
which is quite useful for applications like medical imaging and research just
to name a few. Because there are no physical parts (i.e. lenses) to be
changed or adjusted, this makes it ideal for novice users as well as more
advanced ones.

As with the other members of the Capturor family, the technology used in
the 3D mega Capturor DF to capture the 3D data is not laser-based, but
rather a white halogen light that can safely be used on humans. Like all of
InSpeck’s digitizers, the DF is also very capable of scanning hair, which has
traditionally been a problem for others. Because of its fine texture,
complex structure and many variants, hair is probably the most difficult
thing to digitize. The 3D Mega Capturor DF can also digitize any skin color
with ease. Its capacity to capture hair and skin color is what distinguishes it
from the rest.

VERSATILITY AT ITS BEST

The 3D Mega Capturor DF is designed to offer two different fields of view
using two mega-pixel cameras built into the system. The [Small Field]
camera is perfect for small volumes like faces or heads for example, as it
will give you very high resolution. On the other hand, the [Large Field]
camera will capture larger objects/subjects but with lesser details.

Another great advantage is that the 3D mega Capturor DF is scalable. As a
matter of fact, the DF is only one step away from becoming a  Mega Half
Body (2 Positions) AND a Hand System. This means that users can
purchase a DF initially to do faces, heads, torsos (etc) and later, purchase
a second DF and set them both up as a Mega Half Body (2 Positions) or a
Hand System! 


CRYSTAL ENGRAVING & RAPID PROTOTYPING

The 3D Mega Capturor DF is also available for people who are interested in
3D crystal engraving. In this case, the [Large Field] camera is capable of
capturing from one to four (or five) people in a single shot for the crystal
engraving application. That leaves us with the [Small Field] camera, still
capable of capturing high-resolution 3D images of someone’s face or
head. This data can be used for rapid prototyping and 3D printing
purposes. InSpeck’s 3D data is compatible with most 3D printers on the
market, like ZCORP’s Ztm510 printer. Users can digitize someone’s head

HOW TO BUILD A 3D MODEL

Creating complete 3D models (360°) can be done using 2 different
methods. The first is by taking multiple acquisitions (views) using a single
digitizer. Then, those views can be stitched together in InSpeck’s EM
software. This software will not only generate a complete 3D model but it
also provides many functions to edit, modify and even animate it to your

solution only needs one digitizer, it is very affordable, portable and easy
to use.

The second possibility is to configure more than one digitizer together as a
system. You can configure multiple digitizers together as a Multi Head
system. The digitizers will then fire sequentially at your subject/object
placed in the middle of the configuration. This enables users to capture
subjects that can’t stay still for more than a few seconds that would
otherwise be impossible by using the first method. The Multi Head system
comes with a calibration target that eliminates time-consuming registration
(view alignment) processing steps. In the end, Multi Head systems help
users cut down drastically the time it takes to go from acquisitions to
