Footshape

The Footshape is a turnkey system that precisely digitizes the surface
of your feet in 3D for creating orthotics. The Footshape features cutting
edge non-contact 3D digitizing technology developed by InSpeck. The
technology is based upon 3D optical measurement with white light
projection as opposed to laser.

The Footshape was designed for ease of use and compactness. Its
portability allows the transport and the installation of the system anywhere
in just a few minutes. Instead of using the traditional plaster molds of
your feet, the digital foot imprint is sent electronically to the
manufacturer.  This method reduces considerably the discomfort for the
client and also reduces overhead costs by eliminating the shipping,
handling and the storage of the plaster molds. Once the data has been
electronically transmitted to the manufacturer, the 3D data is used to
create a precise orthotic by a computer-assisted process. Here is the
Footshape’s workflow:

Step One: The patient’s plantar surfaces are scanned in 3D using the
InSpeck Footshape (in Neutral or Semi Weight Bearing positions).

Step two: Apply the necessary corrective prescriptions directly to the
virtual 3D model of the patient foot.

Step three: Data is sent to orthotic fabrication labs via the Internet.

Step four: The orthotic is produced by any numerically equipped (CNC)
machine manufacturer.

Step five: The orthotic is sent to the customer.
